flicker.press is a serialized publishing platform for authors who write with honesty, excellence, and imagination.

We curate a library where truth, beauty, and goodness can thrive, where readers can trust the stories they encounter, and where authors can build a following while honing their craft.

Content Ownership & Rights

Revenue Sharing

Authors earn royalties every time a reader unlocks a paid chapter in their book—so for every paid read on the site, you receive a share of the revenue.

Your Rights

You retain full ownership of your content. flicker.press hosts and distributes your work, but you maintain all copyrights and intellectual property rights.

Platform Rights

Publishing on flicker.press grants us the right to display, format, and distribute your content through our platform. You may remove your content at any time with a 90 day notice.

Content Guidelines

What We Welcome

  • Fiction!
  • Creative non-fiction
  • Cohesive collections of poetry
  • Excellent storytelling
  • Courageous exploration of the boundaries of form or genre
  • Imaginative worlds with magic or mystery

What We Don't Accept

  • Roughly written or unedited manuscripts
  • Plagiarized or AI-generated material
  • Other forms of non-fiction (essays, devotionals, studies, self-help, etc.)
  • Explicit sexual content or gratuitous violence
  • Celebration of illegal activities or harmful behaviors
  • Hateful or derogatory content based on race, gender, identity, or religious beliefs
  • Divisive or agenda-driven political content
  • Stories that treat occult or demonic power as good, redemptive, or worthy of worship.

Quality Standards

  • Well-crafted, original storytelling with strong character development, engaging plot structure, and clear, purposeful prose. (Works in progress are welcome, but must be coherent, thoughtfully developed, and ready for beta readers.)
  • Careful editing with attention to grammar and structure
  • Content appropriate for the intended audience
  • Elevation of what is good, true, and beautiful
  • Respectful exploration of faith, doubt, and difficult themes–while stories may address complicated topics, they should ultimately point toward hope, healing, or growth

As a flicker.press author, you become part of our community. We expect:

  • Respectful engagement with readers and fellow authors
  • Professional communication in all platform interactions
  • Constructive feedback when reviewing or commenting on other works
  • Gracious response to criticism and suggestions on your own work
  • Support for fellow authors and community growth

Author Journey Process

We're excited that you're interested in becoming an author. Here's what to expect:

    Submit Application Complete your author profile with bio, writing experience, and sample work
  • 2
    Start Publishing Once approved, you can start publishing and building your audience
  • 3
    Content Approval All new content is reviewed by AI upon submission to ensure guideline compliance to quality standards. There is an appeals process to ask a human to make the judgment call if a restriction seems unfair. All manuscripts are processed on secure servers. No text is shared externally for model training.

    Community Feedback Receive notifications of comments from readers and use the feedback to hone your manuscript
  • 5
    Ongoing Partnership Authors and readers will help us maintain quality and community standards by reporting content or behavior that does not meet our guidelines.
  • Agreement to Guidelines

    When applying to become a flicker.press author, you will acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to abide by these content guidelines. Violation of these guidelines may result in content removal or account suspension.

    These guidelines may be updated periodically. Authors will be notified of significant changes.
