About Beth Yoakum
From an early age, Beth wanted to experience the world outside her small-town in Michigan. She found that books were the key to learning about people and other cultures. Decades later, after traveling extensively, (and discovering that God's world and His people are indeed enchanting!), she continues to enjoy the comfort and solace that books offer, but also the outlet of writing. Beth shares book reviews on Goodreads, Substack and Instagram under the name Unbridled Reader. She has published short story and creative non-fiction stories in various literary magazines. The longer form of the novel is her preferred format, and she has written two novels. The first is about a young girl living in Los Angeles in the 1990's who discovers that despite her extremely poor decision making, God continues to pursue a relationship with her. The second is a magic realism story based in Ireland that includes a tired sheep farmer, a bookworm and two interfering fairies.
