Bess Malek-Maiorano

Bess is a Pediatric Pharmacist who uses humor, honesty and lived grief to mix doses of words that explore the range of human experience. Through refining her craft and informed by experiences around marrying into a middle eastern family, motherhood, medicine, infant loss and love through traumatic brain injury, she writes to give shape to the people and places that surprise her.

Whether it is a memory of a colonoscopy on Valentine's Day, raising children in an age of instant pudding, or finding her way through a maze of loss and the ultimate death of her beloved husband, she seeks the shimmer of God's presence.

She is remarried to an Italian guy who loves words. He loves well her four children while she patiently tolerates his ancient Goldendoodle.
